Does the US Have the Best Healthcare?

Here are some of the healthcare rankings for the United States as compared to the rest of the world:
Preventable Deaths- 14th
Healthy Life Expectancy- 24th
Total Expenditure on Health as % of GDP 2000-2005- 2nd
(the Marshall Islands have the highest expenditure. )

The facts show we pay the most money and don’t get the best care. The data I used can be found at http://www.photius.com/rankings/healthranks.html.  I didn’t include all the data. This article was an interesting read. The table showing the Total Expenditure on Health as % of GDP 2000-2005 shows that many of the nations have lowering healthcare costs (even in the Marshall Islands), but not the US.

The upside of all of this is that the U.S. insurance companies are doing quite well financially.
