It has been a long time since I wrote anything in blog. It has been a busy spring. There are so many issues and so little time. Here is a quick rant---

The Indiana Republicans, who control the Indiana's government, is so screwed up that they are trying to destroy Indiana's middle class. They have put Public Education back fifty years. They want government to stay out of their (Republican's) lives, but force the rest of us to live by their values. They say they care for the citizens of Indiana and showed us by stopping Planned Parenthood from doing abortions, while refusing money (from the Federal government) to feed children that are already here. Yeah, the citizens of Indiana are being screwed by the Republicans. I am not enjoying it.

Thank You. :)

Listen to What Ronald Reagan says about Unions

“Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. … Their number is negligible and they are stupid.” -Eisenhower

The quote was one that Ike had penned in a letter to his brother Edgar in November of 1954.

I would like to thank Caffeinated Politics (http://dekerivers.wordpress.com/2011/02/26/president-eisenhower-on-labor-unions/) for finding this quote.

The information document was shared with the Senate Education Committee members to address the concern that have been raised about the quality of our public schools. It startled and amazed virtually all of them. Among the most jaw-dropping –literally – were

• Indiana teachers rank first in the nation for credentials in teaching what they teach (in other words in CONTENT certification which with the Governor should be THE priority. We subscribe to a higher standard – that both content and teaching skills are important.

• If Indiana were a country, our 4th and 8th grade math students would rank 7th highest IN THE WORLD.

• 87% of our students rank the equivalent of a C or higher on NAEP 4th grade math tests. (That’s a higher standard than a passing score and -
at nearly 90% with a C or better equivalent – is truly phenomenal.)

So the rhetoric that would lead the public to believe our schools are failing, teachers are not all that effective so evaluations procedures must be severely tightened and prescript, that teachers have focused on OTHER than student achievement are misleading, unfair, and not research driven.

Blogger who can't the heat.

The *The Hoosierpundit* is a blogger who is all wind. What use is a blog that can't be replied to? In the last blog of *The Hoosierpundit* he/she made a couple of comments that I wanted to reply to. His site said "Comment on Facebook" and I went to FB and you can't comment.

Now for my comments:
1. The ISTA rally was at 5:00 p.m. The teachers I talked to had driven down in groups. All who I talked to had taught that day.
2. In my opinion Mitch doesn't give a damn about anyone in Indiana, especially the public school kids. (Actually that is not true, if you give money to him or the Republian Party then he cares for you). If *TH* had attended, he/she would have seen mothers (with their babies), school-aged children, parents, grandparents, and future grandparents supporting public education.

I said what I need to say. I'm done...No, I'm not. If *
The Hoosierpundit* doesn't have the guts (I was going to use balls, but I don't know what sex *TH* is) to voice his/her opinion and take on comments, then he/she is a coward.

My dad is doing better. With that being said....

I made a comment on Aim Higher blog (http://www.aiminghigherindiana.com/). This is a Republican CAP blog. The topic was education. OMG the Republicans have to resort to anecdotal comments.

Remember the the old, really old, Wendy's commercials with "Where is the beef?" "Where is the beef, Mitch?" I'm sorry, no I'm not, but Stephanie Salter wrote wrote a great article about Indiana's public education system. The link is *http://tribstar.com/opinion/x1894465482/STEPHANIE-SALTER-Have-you-heard-Indiana-s-schools-are-failing-It-s-a-lie*. It is a must read for everyone.

Mitch told congress that that the Bush tax cuts would put the the U.S. in the black, the cuts puts in the the red.

Hey, Mitch made TPM! :)

Mitch made Talking Points Memo! Why I am I not surprised! Mitch promoted the concept the that the Bush tax cuts would put the US, United States, in the black. The cuts didn't...it helped cause the crash. Can you really trust a man, who doesn't "do diligence"? Read this acticle and make up your own mind " http://www.prospect.org/cs/articles?article=mitch_daniels_due_diligence "

Happy New Year!

Good Morning and A Happy New Year!! This is my first post of the year. I plan to post at least once a week. My plan to post something by Wednesday of each week.

Today my post is about our local government's project "Super Scarves". The scarves are going to the volunteers of the 2012 (I think) Super Bowl. Why doesn't the Colts organization pay for the scarves. This organization is made up of millionaires, that get money from our local government. This is just another way to subsidize the wealthy and increase the profit of a few by the many.

Why isn't the city-county government promoting making scarves for the poor. Oh yeah, the poor usually don't make large campaign contributions.
